Lynx Add to Technical Staff
RELEASE - The Lynx organization today announced the most recent addition to their technical Staff. Colin Mottershead has been appointed to the position of U17 Head Coach for 2010. Colin brings exceptional qualities to the Academy with valuable experience in scholarship assistance, technical and tactical coaching and a winning record at the very highest level. Colin will be instrumental in finalizing the new look roster for 2010, as several of this past seasons ladies are moving onto the senior academy program. Colin's oldest daughter Alyshca, is a member of the Senior Lady Lynx 'W' League team and currently in the U20 National training pool. She is a former U17 National World Cup Team member and currently enjoying a soccer scholarship at the University of Iowa in the USA. Colin's experience includes 3 Ontario Cup Championships, 3 additional finalist appearances, and an OYSL Championship. Also being a former Ontario games coach, he brings an exciting addition to the technical department, under the continued direction of Lady Lynx Head Coach Danny Stewart. The Junior Ladies have made terrific progress in 2009 qualifying for the North American Championships in Florida. The appointment of Mottershead confirms serious intentions for continued growth and development, as the Lady Lynx are also introducing a new U16 team for 2010, together with the launch of a new U18/19 senior girls program, in preparation for super 20 women's play in the summer in the United Soccer Leagues. Open tyouts are now underway for all age groups and interested players and parents are invited to check out more details on the Academy web site at www.torontolynxpremiersocceracademy.com BANDANA CALLED TO NTC The Lady Lynx also announced that U17 goalkeeper Eve Bandana, has had the official call into NTC training for further evaluation by the National coaching staff. "It is always very exciting for all concerned, when our players are recognized for the amount of work they put into their game and the skill level they can now display" stated Head Coach Danny Stewart. "We also have several NTC players currently in our 'W' League team, so I am very familiar with what quality is required at this elite level. To now have another Academy prospect recognized , reflects the continued development of our Junior Ladies program".
